So you want the symbolic result, rather than the numerical.

Here are both. Note that the numerical solver will give different results, depending on the guess value for x. I've tried a few more values, but found only the result values shown below. The symbolic solver finds only one of the two, but the checks demonstrate that both solutions hold symbolically as well.

O.K. You ask, Mathcad solves. Of course there is no numerical solution, because y is unknown. But symbolically it's fairly simple:
