All,
I think one great aspect of a community like this one is that this can be a great resource for the younger designers who have just started their careers or the designers-to-be who are attending college still.
I am sure we have many experienced designers here and I bet each of you has at least one tip to share that could be helpful for the youngsters. I am not talking about "how to do this in Pro/E" or so, more about generic things like
- should I sign up for any industry associations to build a network
- should I read any trade magazines
- what to look for in a job description
- should I do any additional training next to my job
- ...
Maybe some of you have done things earlier in your career that you would now do different? Or you have read a book that turned out to be useless?
