Screw simulation in Mechanica

Screw simulation in Mechanica

I am in the process of altering the design of a screwed-together, sheet metalflue stack. I am interested in evaluating the sheer stresses that result on the screws when a prescribed load is applied to the top of the flue stack, resulting in a wrenching motion away from where the stack is secured. The end goal of this is to be able to select a design with a minimal, but appropriate, number of screws and also to be able to use this kind of analysis for future investigations. [See attached for clarification, hopefully]

Is the only way to accomplish this to model each individual screw and run a simulation or is there a way to use the fastener simulation to get the needed results? Also, does anyone know of a good tutorial that includes the fastener function in Mechanica?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
