I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM140
1 user has an issue with Creo-Windchill connectivity stability. It happens, when working with Creo, that Creo looses the connection to Windchill. The user is then asked to enter his credentials again, but these are not accepted. The user is then unable to get the connection again. restarting Creo doesn't help. The only solution found so far is restarting the computer.
Please advice how we can investigate this issue. So far we have not been able to establish a sequence to reproduce this issue.
Here are the errors that I faced
Windchill connection lost. User must login again but user account/password is not accepted.
What version of Windchill are you running?
Do you have the DM config .pro settings to retain server, etc.
We are currently still on Windchill 11. And yes, we have the setting to retain the server. It is only 1 user who has this issue.
Losing the connection to Windchill is not uncommon. But for this user, if it happens, we have to restart the entire computer to get it fixed. Switching online-offline, closing all browsers, restarting Creo, killing processes, nothing helps. But it is always fixed when we restart the computer.
Some of my users get that too. Not everyone and not very often. Normally we just go into the Server Management and it shows as offline. Sometimes it even still shows it's online but it's acting funny. We might also try forcing it to go offline then back online.
Most of the time one of these two will work.
We have never figured out why it happens.
Like I replied in the previous thread. It is not uncommon to lose the connection. We normally just close Creo or switch from offline to online too. But for this user it doesn't work. He gets the request to enter the Windchill credentials and we can't get past that. Except restarting the system.
Have you tried clearing out the workspaces, delete them then delete the PTC directory that Creo creates? Try a freshly created one?
