I've got a task to sync input, requirement and specification documents between two instances of Integrity. I also need to sync all relationships between all documents and its contents. Which tool would be the best choice to organise the exchange?
These instances of Integrity doesn't connect directly or through any type of network. The only way to transfer information is to store it in the file on a flash drive in the point A and then load it in the point B.
I know there is RIF Utility for that purpose. But I don't know, whether it is possible to sync relationships using this utility.
Hello Denis Renev,
I don't have a recommendation, but if you don't get any others, you could contact your Account Manager to discuss this with our Global Services team.

Hi Dennis,
the best choice is our Integrity Requirements Connector. This tool is designed to
- handle all document types
- handle text and images
- handle also relationships (traces) very well
If you use it, you configure the fields to consider, and the trace definition as well.
Assuming, the document definition in both environments is similar, its a matter of minutes to get the document exported and imported.
The latest Integrity Requirements Connector reads and writes ReqIF and RIF, and is capable to handle not only Integrity sources.
The RIF and the base Integrity IIF data exchange should also allow data exchange, but then you need to understand the RIF or IIF structure quite well and you have to configure an XML file for export and import. For one of my clients I used plain IIF, and it worked quite well.
But, if the process needs to be performed mutliple times with data additions and data/trace changes, I would definitely go with the PTC Integrity Requirements Connector.
