Hi,
We are using Thingworx 7.0 and we would like to know if it is possible to have different authentication mechanism for design and run time?
For design time, we would like to keep it default.
For run time, we want to use different authenticator.
Thanks,
Vasanthi
Vasanthi, I don't believe that would be possible as it ultimately ties up into one instance, where run time cannot work without design time. You would have to use a central authenticator and split your user groups from there.
We want to have custom authenticator in Thingworx intsance and we would like to have two types of user groups.
User Group A - can have access to both design time and run time.
User Group B - can have access only to run time.
We are pretty new Thingworx.
Could you please tell us the steps on how can we achieve what we would like to do? Any pointer to video link or help document will be appreciated.
The Security section at the Help Center has information on custom authenticators and directory services. It also has information on creating Organizations and User Groups where you can control permissions/ privileges for individual users or a group of users. Access to the composer cannot be blocked at the moment, but that is a request that has been filed with the devs to be added as a new feature in the future releases.
Thank you, Aanjan.
