ThingWorx-based application shortcut on Chrome Android should behave as Progressive Web App

I am using ThingWorx Platform Release 9.0

Our customer has requested that the application based on ThingWorx, when saved to the Android home screen using Chrome, appears as a Progressive Web App (PWA), i.e., without the Chrome toolbar, behaving like a standalone app. Currently, when added to the home screen in Chrome, it still shows the browser bar. On Samsung Internet Browser, however, the same shortcut appears correctly as a standalone app.

Could you please clarify why this difference occurs and advise what configuration or changes would be needed in order to achieve the same standalone PWA behavior in Chrome?

Environment details:
ThingWorx version: 9.0.3-b243
Android version: 14
Chrome version (where PWA does not work as expected): 126.0.6478.110
Samsung Internet Browser version (where it works as expected): 24.0.6.15

Hi @Fred_D4i,

What do you mean by "ThingWorx-based application shortcut" and "the application based on ThingWorx"? Do you mean mashup? Could you please elaborate on that?

↑ If you could provide a screenshot and point out what browser bar you are referring to would make others understand you better.

Maybe also provide a screenshot of Samsung IE which you expect how it should display for comparison.

Best,

Tony

Hello@Fred_D4i , see if this helps: https://stackoverflow.com/a/57252936

The "scope" is in PWA's metadata.xml.
