Can't validate or publish - authentification fails
Hi,
I installed Thingworx version 8.0.1 (8.0.1.1646) trial a couple of weeks ago and have created and saved a test experience however I can't find a way to publish it.
I'm an existing PTC user and have confirmed I'm using the correct username and password (I am successfully logged into my Thingworx Developer Portal account through the Thingworx webpage using the same login details) and I can successfully 'save' the experience to the web, however when I try to 'validate' the experience service or publish it and enter my login details in the "Authentification Required" dialog box it repeatedly fails authentification.
The log error is:
"error: [twx-studio:basic] Failed to authenticate experience server https://3e1hmks2.pp.vuforia.io [my PTC username] 401"
All proxy details in settings are blank.

Hi Tara,
I don't remember an auto-configuration but yes I'm entering my PTC credentials into the username/password authentification dialog box when it pops up after clicking validate or publish.

Should I be entering my PTC credentials? If not please can you confirm which credentials I should be logging in with please?

Hi James, Yes, you should be using your PTC credentials that allow you to log into the studio portal. Please try using the auto-configure option found in the 'portal login' menu option under the '...' in the upper right hand corner. Your PTC credentials should be entered here. Let me know if you receive the same error.

Hi Tara,
Thanks, yes I can connect to the studio portal using my PTC credentials and I get a small popup saying "configuration complete". However if I then click Publish, or "Validate" in Configuration -> Info, I get an "authentification required" dialogue box and if I enter the same PTC login credentials and click "log in" it just pops up the same "authentification required" dialogue box again. The log file says "error: [twx-studio:basic] Failed to authenticate experience server https://3e1hmks2.pp.vuforia.io [my PTC username] 401".

If you go to https://3e1hmks2.pp.vuforia.io/ExperienceService/ are you able to log in using your PTC credentials? Please also share a screenshot of your 'settings' menu.

Hi Tara,
If I go to https://community.thingworx.com/external-link.jspa?url=https://3e1hmks2.pp.vuforia.io/ExperienceService/ I get a web log-in prompt but the same problem occurs - I enter my PTC credentials and click ok, but the credentials obviously aren't accepted as the dialog box just pops up again immediately afterwards with the password blank, no other message is given.
I enter my PTC credentials as above and click ok, and the dialogue box opens again as below:

On further examination, my credentials successfully publish and update from a different machine. Not it.
