Version 2.08 includes the following new features:     - New right-click Context Menu added to the results list for:             o Recovering Selected Files             o Recovering All Files             o Exporting the Results Table     - Timers that report:             o Elapsed time during the file “examination” process, i.e., File > Open,                and total elapsed time at the completion of the file examination process             o Elapsed time for file recovery, i.e., Recover Selected Files or Recover ALL Files.     - Minor clarification changes to the text of some dialog boxes.     - Minor bug fixes.     - Help option on the menu bar with options that will:             o Open the PDF User Guide             o Display an About dialog Special thanks to those that assisted with testing.   I am attaching the 64 bit version of the installer.  If the 32 bit version is still required, I will add it.   NOTE: This will be my final version of the tool.   I have retired and after a 50-year career that I have enjoyed thoroughly, it is time for me to bid you adieu! I wish you great success in your endeavors.   Now to the question many of you are likely asking. What will happen to the tool? At this point I haven't decided. Windchill Cache Recovery Tool version 1.0 development began in 2008 when I was between jobs and it was released at the end of that year. Version 2.0 was a rewrite of the UI and features were added with each release to where we are today - version 2.08.   I have years of effort developing this tool and to be honest, I don't want to give it up. But without access to the PTC tools and files needed, it will become impossible to continue its development. And with the amount of time I have invested in it, I don't feel I can just give it away. So, for now the source code remains in my possession.   Ron Thellen

We  are excited to be working closely with our PTC Gold Partner, Anark, on Supplier Collaboration.  Anark, whose Core software allows PTC customers to transform their engineering design, manufacturing, and maintenance information into advanced technical content and digital workflows, has posted a number of useful blogs on supply chain collaboration and cybersecurity.        In 'Supply Chain Collaboration: Top Five Strategies', Anark CEO Scott Williams challenges readers to stop doing the same things with supply chain collaboration and become more agile and responsive -  but how, with so many suppliers in the value chain?   To learn how, read 'Supply Chain Collaboration: Top Five Strategies'.

The On-Demand System Scan for Windchill PLM and RV&S allows system administrators to manually scan their system files for similar recommended improvements on an ad hoc basis. Admins can upload system files to be scanned and receive recommended actions for any known issues or improvements that are detected. The utility will provide you with recommendations to apply on your Windchill installation in order to aid in expediting resolution of existing issues, as well as discovering issues before they become problems.       As of today, 260 checks are evaluated for Windchill PLM, and we are constantly adding new detections. We also have a specific support for WinDU – we will add new detections soon! For Windchill RV&S (formerly known as Integrity Lifecycle Manager), we currently have more than 150 detections.   Try it today! This service is free for all PTC customers.   For the future, we are working on several options: one is about providing with a tool that helps collecting all the files to submit for a scan. Another one is to  show all the errors/exceptions that the scan has detected – but that means that you will have to filter the impactful ones from the ones that can be ignored. We are also exploring some AI technologies to map the errors in your log files with the articles in our knowledge base. If you have some suggestions, feel free to comment this post!   And you can find out more about PTC’s Proactive Support Services by visiting the FAQ page.

About this event: The CAD-Driven BOM The part-centric methodology orchestrated by Windchill is an integral component to the digital thread, enabling enterprises to realize their digital transformation goals.  A model-based approach of driving the creation of the eBOM from native CAD data delivers an automated mechanism providing a highly visual BOM to the extended enterprise.  Although this may sound simple enough, CAD design decisions don’t always match the way engineering expects the BOM to be structured.  Managing these complex associations while keeping information and changes synchronized, whether made in CAD or to the BOM, can prove challenging. Join presenter Steve Shaw, PLM Solutions Director, on March 11 th  at 10 am EST, for this Tech Tips session where he will: Explore the recent improvements to the tools and capabilities available in Windchill’s CAD integration and BOM management; Demonstrate how these tools and capabilities can help streamline the process, identify differences, and manage the connection between CAD and the engineering BOM; Explain how to synchronize all of the information back to the BOM for downstream consumption and visibility. You won’t want to miss it so Register Today!
