Add all users as members of a context team

Folks,

We would like to use a PDMLink library for all our CAD Standards. So things like start parts, formats etc. Clearly we need users to be able to browse to that Library and navigate the folder structure, and we would like to do that for all users in the organisation.

We use role based permissions and granting users the ability to browse, requires that they be in the Members role in the context team. It does not appear to be possible to use the “Pseudo Role All” for granting context team membership. We do not currently use groups in the system at all other than Administrators, and ideally we want to avoid having a group “all users”.

Is there a good way to automatically make all users in an organisation Members in a particular context team role?

We have a group that all users except admin are added to (at Org, Groups), and minimal permissions are applied that group. We also map that group in most contexts to the Member role, which enables all users to have minimal permissions in that context. Seems like this might work.

Lewis,

Have you tried adding the Organization to the role Members?

· Go to the context team

· Click Add Members

· From the Find Participant pop up, under Search For select Organization

· Search for the name of the Org

· Add that org to the role

Not sure if this is what you are looking for. If you have your users in multiple orgs, you can each of the org principles as needed.

Hope that helps,
Steve D.

We use a shared team assigned to all libraries. You must assign the shared team to the library upon creation, it cannot be done afterwards.
In the shared team we assign users to the Collaboration Manager role to allow them to share objects to ProjectLink. We also assign external users to this role, so they have access to our standard components and can share them to their Project without any help from our side.

Best Regards,
Bjarne Frandsen

Lewis,

We use groups to create that cohort group. Then put t hat group into a role. In our library everyone except the library managers are read/download only.

Hope that helped.
