Add to project, ineligible object selected

One of our Product is giving this error when you try to add objects to a project.

I can add objects from a different Product to the project. So it's nothing to do with the project.

What permissions would cause this? Every user we have tried is getting the same error, even admin's.

I guess I should update this. Found the problem.

CS32686 says:
that in order to add objects to a Project, the Product has to grant Change Permissions and Read permissions on objects in Product/Libraries.

I had to add change permission to the product folder context where the files reside.

After that everything works as expected.

We are likely going to have to go thru a bunch of products and libraries and add this permission.

If it makes sense, add it at the organization level to save yourself the
trouble of per product or library efforts. It will cascade permission down
if that is an acceptable way of doing so.

I wish it were that easy. A former employee who went to work for PTC came back and set up our system on rev 8. It was his first installation, and we didn’t know enough, to know what not to ask for or to recognize that certain configurations would be a problem.

We ended up with multiple orgs and permissions set up like shown below. We are in the process of installing fresh on 10.2 and doing a migration of our data to eliminate this mess.
