Aphelion Web Tool

Windchill Gurus,

I have been asked to setup a password policy for Windchill.

We are currently on Windchill 9.1 M060 and still using Aphelion. I know...I know I should be on Windchill DS.

The problem that I am experiencing is...logging into Aphelion as an administrator to setup the password policies. I have the Aphelion password written down from when we originally setup Windchill 8.0 and have not used it or changed it since.

When I bring up the Aphelion Web Tool and try to log in using the username and password it will not let me.

Am I missing something?

For the user ID make sure you use "cn=Manager" not just "Manager".

Just a guess.

You may be able to see the password for M060 to Aphelion in ie.properties in codebase\WEB-INF if the new encryption functionality has not been enabled.

Sorry, was wrong on that. It's been a while since I had to search for the Aphelion password.

Is the password stored in the Aphelion install log files? I can't recall.

It is in the summary of the install if you save it as the last step before selecting the Install button, at least on the 9.0m050 install I did yesterday it was.

Hi,

I will have to check my notes about this, because it has been a while since I worked with Aphelion, but I think that the user/password that must be used to log in to the Aphelion Web Tools page was not the LDAP Administrator (cn=Manager)... I think that it should be an Operative System user/password assigned to a specific group...

Ok, I have found it:

After initial installation, you must satisfy the following requirements to log in to the Web interface:
• Must have a valid username and password defined on the host machine.
• Must be a member of the LDEadmin group (the group name is case-sensitive).
If you are not a member of the LDEadmin group, contact your administrator.

The user and group must be in the Operative System, not in Windchill or LDAP.
