Along the new features for Windchill 10.2 I read also : Simplified and automated support of PTC Windchill within a cluster environment. What must I understand under this point ?

Check out the documentation on cluster deployment.

You should find it greatly simplified from previous releases.

At a high level this boils down to:

1. Automatic selection and failover of the master server manager
2. Far less node-specific configuration, e.g. differences in configuration between the master and slaves

#2 should further improve (in M020 if I recall correctly) in terms of vault configuration.
