Cannot register a server on 32-bit PC's.

Cannot register a server on 32-bit PC's.

We just deployed CE Pro 5 M120 to a user on a 32-bit PC (Windows XP).

We she attemopt to register the Windchill server, she never get prompted for credentials.
An hour glass is displayed and never goes away.
The Creo session is locked up. We have to kill it.

We confirmed that this was happening on Windows 7 32-bit as well.
All our 64-bit machines work fine.

Windchill Intralink 9.1 M060 with active directory authentication.

Hi Gerry,

See if you have on a toolbar a minimized icon of log in window. Sometimes it goes behind Pro/E and all appears to be frozen.

Alternate log into Windchill first using embedded browser (type URL on the address bar) and then register the server.

Unfortunately, Igor's suggestions did not help, but was worth a try.

I also upgraded Internet Explorer from 7 to 8 on the affected PC's.
That didn't help either.

I also did a search at PTC's knowledgebase.
CS15787 appears to be the same or similar issue, but no details, nor a resolution or work-around.

CS15787 is related to SPR 20447223 and caused by a missing attribute
definition on the customer server.

Enable debug logging (TPI 141793
<">http://www.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=141793> #'s 2, 4 &
7), reproduce the issue and open a case with PTC Technical Support

Thanks again for all of the great advice.
It has helped us narrown down this issue.

And... It looks that this one is PTC's fault.

Through some trial and error, we have discoverred that the problem exists in build M120, but not in M070 (which we were previosuly using).

I'm going to download M130 today to see if that helps.
If not, I'll submit a support call to PTC.
