Change notice status report

Hi all,

I am trying to write a report showing the status of a ECN by its number. What I want to be able to do is show where in the workflow the process is and who is responsible at that point in the process. This will allow us to track any bottlenecks we might have as we implement Change Management. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From the Route/Process History table, there is a action call Open
Process Monitor. Its supposed to do that. But what is does is just open
an image file that you can attached to the process template. I guess the
idea was that you would create an screen grab of the workflow an display
that in a popup window for Non-admins. Totally useless.

There is always the Process Manager which some users find overwhelming.

I had though of editing the JSP that is triggered by the Process Monitor
action and creating a more useful report (hooks already done into the
interface). Your message below is very vague. A report like this is
very dependent on your process.

Depending on Team membership the Routing/History will also show tracking of work items (Workflow Assignments). While this works, somewhat we're using Change Object State to show the progress, and to highlight what the CRB Meeting Agenda needs to be. As an example, the OOTB "Under Review" has been broken down to "Initial Review" - "CRB Review" - "CRB Meeting" - "Pending Approval". Which seems like a lot, but WF has been modified to allow bypass of the meeting with unanimous agreement from CRB...Something I've forgotten here is thatthe OOTB CR and CN WF's have "off-line" CRB and CIB meetings with a record decision Assignment thatwehad bridged with WF Assignments for CRB Review enabling a fully electronicprocess. This frees up the meeting for CR's thatrequire deeper discussion and negotiated decision making.

Agree that the screen grab is not all that useful...

The available reporting depends pretty much on having some change occur at each point where you have interest. About the only option until Windchill 10 is adding enough states to the change object's lifecycle that you can tell from the state what the status is. In Windchill 10 some more tools come along for this purpose.
