Checkin Time - Relation to Creo/View

Hi,

We are using PDMLink 10.2 with Creo 2.0.

There is one peculiar issues.

When model is checked in with the option "Model and Viewables", the check in takes a lot of time.

Whereas when model is checked in with the option "Model only", the check in time is improved a lot.

Iam surprised, because I was thinking that Windchill will not wait till the publishing is complete for making a checkin complete.

Is there any Windchill or Creo View configuration that controls this relation?

Awaiting your valuable suggestions

Thanks

Checking in models and viewables means, create the viewables locally, in the currently running session of Creo, then when done check in the model along with these newly created viewables.

Checking in just models relies on the cad worker / publisher to generate the viewables instead of the locally running session of Creo.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for your clarity.

However, is there any influence on the checkin time due to the viewables creation in local mode or publish mode?

Thanks

Hari

I would expect some slight increase. Both the primary content (CAD file) and the representation (viewable) have to both be uploaded. I would guess that the majority of the time increase in the creation of the viewable, not it's upload time.
