Windchill ProjectLink 10.0 pre-production (C000) has just been released and this is the opportunity for me to introduce some of the new features of Windchill ProjectLink supporting the design outsourcing process and particularly concurrent alternative design.
This includes the ability to :
- Check-out design data multiple times to multiple projects
- Identify and resolve potential identity conflicts in the project for CAD documents before sending them to PDM.
- Clearly see from the object information page all the projects and folders location where an object is shared, checked-out, sent to PDM , superseded or abandoned.
- Optionally provide a visual indication when an object shared is out of date.
- Allow selective update of out of date objects in a project folder.
- Create a baseline in a project
By the way, when sharing an object from PDMLink to ProjectLink use "Copy / Paste" instead of "Add to project" action .. it is simpler and more efficient , particularly if you want to share to multiple projects (check out http://communities.ptc.com/videos/1614 )
