Convert specific drawings to DXF

Version: Windchill 12.1

Use Case: I need to create a automatic process, preferable a worker, to transform CREO drawings to DXF but only the second page and if the model is a PRT, and if possible only sheetmetal.

Description:

I've seen that PROE worker can output drawings in DXF, but I don't know how to set which files should and should not be used.
We already have a PROE worker for thumbnails.

Just guessing...  Your company adds a sheet metal flat state as a second page to bent state drawings?

We use INNEO's Model Processor Worker to dynamically create the flat state as a DXF when released sheet metal parts are submitted for publishing.  We load the DXF files into Windchill as additional representation content.  However, they can be loaded as attachments, independent Documents, or saved out to a directory on disk.

MP Worker embeds inside of PTC's Creo Worker and does its processing before the WVS worker generates the representations and other content per post-publish rules.

You can use Additional Files capability controlled through Publish Rules - Refer PTC Help Center. You can control generation of additional files on multiple conditions including state of object or attributes exposed to Windchill.

Both alternatives are good, the INNEO program is really handful but we don't really want to use a external tool.

As far as I understood the publish rules wouldn't convert only the second page for a DXF, it always output a zip with all pages, if there is multiple ones.

I think the solution would be something similar to INNEO tool, I've tested the free version, the downside was I could only test with cad models that were currently open and there's was lot capabilities to use but I couldn't find a way to select only second page, maybe I just didn't found it.

Anyway, the solution seem's to be an automation with Creo, within the worker but a capacity that ain't OOTB. Guess we do need an external tool...

JFYI, you will soon have capability to export all sheets in single DWG/DXF in upcoming release of Creo View Adapters.
