Version: Windchill Below 11.0
Use Case: I want to open visualization of parts and assemblies on Creo View directily by Windchill. Our Client uses Creo 8 so that's what we use. I have just installed Creo 8 with everything in it (Creo View Express 9.1 included).
Description:
When trying to open a Creo View visualization by Windchill either by clicking on thumbnail (the thumbnail works just fine, zooms and rotates) or by Open in Creo View option,, this happens:
- On Windchill integrated in CREO: it just pops a IE error webpage that says its not possible to open this webpage, "Some content or files on the webpage require a program that is not installed". (windows_browser_type is now ie_browser, but was chromium_browser before and nothing happened)
- Windchill on Chrome it pops up a error message that says "Get an app to open this Creoview link."
- Windchill on Edge nothing happens.
Creo View Express 9.1 opens normally when opened standalone.
What should I do? What am I missing?
Thanks!

Creo View Express is NOT Creo View. Sorry for the confusion. You need to have Creo View installed. Its a separate install and download. Creo View Express is installed when you install Creo Parametric.

Thanks for the reply!
So I need to download and install Creo View (not express).
Would you help me find where to download it? Is the licence for it included on Creo Design Essentials?

There are licenses for Creo View MCAD/ECAD and others. Creo View Lite is not licensed.
The Creo View clients are downloaded under the Windchill PDMlink area, under the Release Creo (version).
Not sure how Creo View is licensed. There is no entry under the modules for Design Essentials or the other Creo licenses we have.
Since the download is under the Windchill area, it may be part of Windchill licensing which is its own nightmare.
Guys, thank you so much for the replies.
Windchill licence comes from our client. We have installed it before, I believe from an instalation file the client sent us.
Our company doesn't have any entitled download for Creo View at the Support/Download page.
Even though Creo View Lite should be included in each othe software, right?
"It does, however, require another legal PTC license for using Creo View Lite
Otherwise, it can't be downloaded from PTC Website"
Yes, you will have to get the install from your client. There are license options available when start up so its all the same install.
Found the installation file for Creo View Lite and everything works fine now!
Thank you again for your reply. I've learned a lot with your help.
