Custom Admin Control or Create a Duplicate Windchill Server

My company currently uses Creo/Windchill in Montreal, but is looking into providing our US-based office Creo/Windchill licences.

The catch is we want to take a full CAD project that Montreal was working on, make an exactly copy, and starting modifying it. We also want to implement version control and an internal drawing release process.

Is is possible to create a whole new server with custom admins and contributors? Or can we create a copy of the project and assign custom Admins that have release/edit/check-in/out permissions?

Not sure about the best way to go about this.

If there's a Windchill/Creo expect/sales specialist, I would be happy to talk to them.

Thanks.

Do you want to share/collaborate work between the US office and Montreal?

If all you want to do is provide a copy of what you have in Montreal to the US office, rehost/clone the servers and ship them to the other office. You can clone so that both systems can run simultaneously. I clone this way when doing a rehost for upgrade testing.

If you need to share data, then create a replica server of the Montreal data and ship that to the US office. The Windchill metadata is on the Montreal server, but the CAD files are stored locally and replicated to the Montreal server on a schedule. Did this when we had 3 engineers doing a project at the customer's site in another state.

The actual file renaming is the easy part once you decide how you need to operate between the 2 offices.
