Directories not being displayed

Got a complicated one. We have users that cannot see the contents of directories inside Windchill when they are logged into thier computer however when I log into thier computer Windchill works fine for them so everthing is setup correctly on the Windchill side however not on the Microsoft profile side. The problem is that the IT admin function is being handled by a third party company so any changes to the profile will cost additional money. So does anyone know exactly what directories users need access too?

Thanks in advance!

Jeff,

When you say, "directories inside Windchill" do you mean "contexts" as in
" libararies and products " or do you mean "subfolders" withing library
and product contexts users already have access to, or do you mean
something else (like domains, or file vaults, or any number of other items
that might be construed as "directories"?).

Windchill products can be conufsing around access control, so it is
necessary to be specific, and Windchill-centric in your terminology to get
good help.

From this sentence, "We have users that cannot see the contents" it sounds
like you cannot see any contexts because your users are not "members" of
any of the context teams. But it is hard to tell since "directory" is not
a Windchill object type with which I am familiar, if it is one.

Thanks.

Al Anderson

When they log into Windchill PDMLink 9.1 they can the Product and Library however they cannot see the CAD files in those directories. If I log into their computer and I have them log into Windchill there is no problem they can see everything ok. I believe it is something in my Microsoft profile that allows me access to something that the users are blocked out of. The big problem is that our IT Administration is outsourced so our management wants to know exactly what directory the users need access to so Windchill will work correctly for them… Any help on this is greatly appreciated!!
