Family Table

Hi Guys,

I need to know a few details from the Family Table

Point 1: My template format is mmks (.prt), I create a multi-variant in the family table in mm units. But in the windchill, I can only see decimals. I want the same value with units.

Point 2: For example, I have 1 generic 2 instance - I want to know which component or assembly is referenced/linked if I open instance 1 or 2 on the info page.

Thanks,

Amir

First one is more of a Creo question but those values in the family table are unit-less. They are based on the units of the model which is the same as all dimensions. I am not sure if it can be mapped to an IBA with units but seems more trouble than worth.  The only thing I can see you doing is using a relation to combine the value with the units to  a String and putting that in the family table.

For the second, are you looking to know the where used? That should be possible for instances.  System should know if an instance is used or references by some other model. Look at the Related Objects table.

Thank you for the replay Mr. Avil,

Can you give me some examples or videos on this?

Thanks in Advance,

Amir

@Amirtharaj_K..
1) In windchill "Measurement System" preference governs display of value and unit on details page of object.

https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs103866
https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs369146

https://support.ptc.com/help/wnc/r12.1.0.0/en/#page/Windchill_Help_Center/typeattr/TypeMgrMeasSysMgrAbout.html#

For rounding off decimal you need to set "com.ptc.core.meta.common.NumericToolkit.IGNORE_PRECISION_ENABLED" to true in wt.properties

2) Navigate to details page of FT instance and click on "Related Objects" tab, it should display the component or assembly to which instance is referenced/referenced by.
