Can you share Catia view vs Creo View view? What color is it choosing in Creo view?
Hello @avillanueva ,
thanks for responding and for the link. I found a similar article recommending ticking the "Face colors" in the rcp file, but that didn't make any difference.
I am not Catia person, but I managed to create a simple cylinder and assign colour to every "face" (the bottom, invisible one, is blue).
I noticed there are options to assign colours on many levels, and I tried assign different colour on each of them, but the colour you can see on the righthand side in the Creo View was not among them.
We actually need to make this "colour coding" working for Creo and NX too, I just started with Catia as I am expecting it to be the most difficult one. 🙂
Color test
I am trying to apply the fix from the article you sent and will report back.
ok, I made my own test as well.
and here is how it appeared in Creo view.
Now these were material appearences, one with transparency. Seems like differences I am seeing is in lighting but I would say that it respected my intentions. There is a lighting option in Creo View.
Here is my recipe file:

The two settings I can see as influencing it are "Render Faces As" which I have as default and Texture Maps as Convert
Hello @avillanueva,
thanks for your help and effort and my apologies for late response, we had a bank holiday in our Country because of which I was flooded with some urgent issues.
Thanks for the tests, I assume you did those in Creo, correct? The thing is in our company we use 4 different CAD programs, Creo, NX, Catia and Solidworks so I need to resolve this ideally for all of them.
Thanks to you Creo is resolved. 🙂
I started with Catia so Creo was (thanks to you) a quick side-quest.
Sadly Catia uses third party sw to manage representations and its RCP file (and GUI) looks bit different.
I managed to make several tests and I think I have a breakthrough in Catia.
It was trial and error, but it seems the problem is that Face Colours are overridden by a Material.
I think it makes sense and the metallic shading, in the screenshot I sent earlier, supports my theory.
When I unticked the Material Render in the RCP file it seems to be displaying all right:
Need to ask some designers to give this a proper test and will report back here again.
Thank you once more for your help.
