We will be migrating from SolidWorks PDM to Windchill during 2026.
It's a huge project and we're not really sure about what we end up with.
Files, history, references, all to migrated.

If you are looking for options/alternatives, I would speak to Software Factory (www.sf.com).
They have a very long, successful track record of migrating between PLM/PDM systems and merging/splitting Windchill environments, even with full history.
I have previously migrated Solidworks data from Agile to Windchill. We only took the latest so it was CAD data, BOMs and some other data. Look into the Windchill Bulk Migrator if you want to do a DB to DB transfer but CAD data will be your challenge. I ended up having to check in all the SW data through the WGM to ensure the links and references were built correctly. The process is more complex if you want history too.

That's a German company right? If in US, PDSVision was helpful in our transitions but there are many options. 3HTI too.
We have reached out to Software Factory.
We want to keep the history from our current SolidWorks PDM solution.
Software Factory have a good solution for this and have done it before.
