How to convince a CEO of the benefit of PLM

Hello

we got a new CEO this year. This one is a lot more interested in business processes, IT standardisation etc... but as often as a very high focus on ERP. However, he asked for a meeting about PLM. More precisely he is asking why do I have to pay for PDMLink, what is the benefit.

This is a great opportunity but also a big risk. If he buys it, then life should be a lot more easier for the continuation of the implementation and the return will also be a lot more. If he does not and see now values in PLM; then all the resources will go to ERP.

We are a discrite manufacturer. We do quick turn around product development based no customer request. We create about 500 new partnumbers a week as we do a lot of bespoke (components and assemblies) We have a global footprint too.

For a PLM specialist, it makes no doubt that the company should have a strong focus on PLM and GPDP.

But how to you convience a CEO in 2hrs ! Saying all the good things is one thing. bring some facts is good but the implementation is at its enfancy . Technically we are at the phase of standardizing PDM. So the benefits of PLM are more on paper at the moment.

How have you managed to make your CEO support PLM implementation and business transformation for proper implementation of GPDP ?

by the way the meeting is in a week time (of course !!!!)

Thanks a lot
