How to use a WTPart subtype as the default for AutoAssociate

All,
I am trying to configure my 10.1 M030 system to use a WTPart subtype as the default for the Auto-Associate function. I have read the section in the Customizer's guide on creating and configuring a custom AutoAssociatePartFinderCreator class file, but I'm at a loss on what to set in the class file for it to choose the subtype I want to use. I have a call open to PTC on this, but have not gotten any response as of yet. Any help would be appreciated or some example code would help. Thanks in advance ...
Why can't this just be a preference you set :(.

Michael,

In Type and Attribute Manager you can specify default part type to associate.

Mike,
I went through the same gymnastics. Through the Type and Attribute Manager you have to modify an attribute on the EPM Document and you're done.

Thanks for the answer so quickly !!!
I thought that it didn't HAVE to be that #$*&^#@ hard. I remember in 8.0 and 9.1 that a class was required to do this, I guess that is why I went down that road first.
Thanks again to all. You definitely beat PTC tech support to the answer (again) !!
