Latest Microsoft patch breaks Windchill data connections

For those using Basic Authentication (yes, its on my list to fix) and Excel to pull down query builder reports (web data), this latest Microsoft patch breaks that, Agree totally in that this is a security hole but we should be able to trust our own servers without such a hard block. I knew this was coming for some time. You'll get a message like this.

Here is more information on this and a work around to allow access to specific hosts. I will be testing this with my IT this week.

Background - I have a bunch of reports and helper analysis tools I built in Excel that rely upon data connections to Windchill Reports. I can refresh the data and then do some analysis from there. I think long term ditching Basic auth would work around this issue but would love to here from others using SAML. You have no issues pulling data do you?

In the past (at Alcon), we used this extensively - run / update reports from within Excel. Constant battle to continue using as security tightens in various areas.

I don't have any current use of this but interested in the solution(s) once developed.
