Modify attributes for multiple objects

All,

In Intralink 3.x one could select multiple objects and modify versioned or non-versioned attributes. The modify tool enabled a single entry (of Due Date for example) to be applied to all selected objects in one step.

In Windchill (Intralink 9.1) I cannot find any such tool. If I need to enter the same date in a date attribute for dozens of objects I have to do them one at a time.

Is there an easier way?

Another slightly related question - Is there an easier way to enter a date in a date-format attribute? Currently I need to type the following in this exact syntax: 2010-06-04 07:44 PDT

Thanks,

Mike Foster

This is an easy one. (using 9.1 M050 PDMLink)

WTParts and WTDocuments :

1- Select objects I mass using Shift Click on their checkboxes from the folder view

2- From the Table Edit>Edit Multiple Objects

3- Pick an attribute, assign value and all objects will now have this value for that attribute

CAD Data

1- Add CAD Data to workspace (if they aren't already there)

2- Check out CAD objects to be edited (if it wasn't done during the AddToWorkspace automatically)

3- Select objects to edit using Shift click (allows for mass selection)

a. Using the "Featured Objects" list option makes this a LOT easier if you have a large workspace. It will only display objects checked out, edited etc. It's the menu drop down in the upper right corner. Default is "As List"

4- Select Edit>Attributes

a. Now if your system views haven't been configured to display your custom attributes then you'll need to adjust your Default view at the Edit Attributes screen JUST ONCE to display them

5- Check all items to edit and select the "=?" Edit Attribute button to edit them all.
