Multiple Roles for the same activity with different instructions

I am looking for the start transition code that could identify who the assigned role is on a single activity and assign a different set of instructions to a variable placed in the instructions window. Is this even possible?

Thanks,

Chris

Does anybody have any experience/tricks/suggested methods of mass creation of missing WTParts for all existing Checked In CAD Objects? We have recently gone live with WTParts for BOM communication to our ERP but can't do any of that yet because the only objects with WTParts are objects recently Checked In.

Thanks!

-Sasha

There is a WTPart creation utility that you can use to mass create the parts. Search for it in the help.

Thanks,

At previous company the team created about 55,000 Parts for existing Released CAD.

Lots of discussion on this - ended up doing most of it via CAD workspace with lots of make-sure checks a few at a time due to lots of need for data cleanup before creating Parts and tying together. We also started with all Components and got them really finished and trusted before doing any assemblies.

But - Adding WTParts to CAD thru CSV files and loadFromFile framework is relatively easy. Can and should be tested (possibly multiple times) on a rehosted test system. All work using this approach is in the CSV file(s), which can be proven out as much as needed. Have to determine if you need much data cleanup.

Have to make some decisions also - do you want WTParts for fixtures & tooling. May or may not want to create them for components of purchased assemblies (good pros and cons for both YES and NO answer on this one).

May need some decisions about what to make End Items. Seems straight forward to start but there are a few gray areas.

Main recommendations:
- Prove out in small chunks - can implement incrementally in production or all at once.
- Carefully document all decisions; this will iterate a bit as you go thru things.
- Address a complete BOM at a time. Get users used to accessing Details / End Items table.

Hi Sasha, we do this quite often and have some custom scripts that handle the part creation, linkage and structure build all at once. It allows us to build whatever intelligence is needed in there as well.
