New Promotion Request from Search results requires user to select Context

New Promotion Request from Search results requires user to select Context

Anyone know how to resolve this?

V11, M020 (and M010). If a users selects objects in a search result then selects to create a new Promotion Request then the new Promotion Request first page requires the users to first select a Context.

Normally, if a users selects New Promotion Request in a Folder or on the Info Page, the Promotion request is created in that same context.

The PR normaly looks like this when created from the Action on the object or a Folder.

From the Search results table, depending on the criteria, you may select objects from different contexts and Windchill code doesn't check for context information when it is an table-level action (to avoid parsing once again the selected objects, as it could lead to performance drop, etc).

Therefore, it asks for the context info in the Set Context step. Except if you Right Click on a specific single object to launch the operation.

Right mouse click does get around the problem for Promotion Request (then the user would need to add the other items).

The logic that it dosn't check context seems odd as this issue is only with PR and not Change Request. It also asks for context only when one item (or more than one from the same context) is selected.

If you have recently visited set to a reasonable value, the list will have recenty picked contexts. I wish we could set a default context in OIR and skip this step.
