Hi,
soon the company for that I'm working will decide what PDM\PLM we are going to use in future.
is it somenbody that had experience with both and have an idee witch one is better, stable and easy to use with Creo 5.0 (ProE)
I participated to all demos that PTC and Siemens did for this company and sincerly the presentations done for Siement (TeamCenter) exceed all the expactations.
PTC's demos were not so impresed but important is not what we've seen in few hour. Importat is how ProE will work with Teamcenter or Windchill not a demo of few hours where everithing was perfect.
Please send me your feedback.
Thx,
CC
I don't have specific experience with TeamCenter working with Pro/E. I would however recommend doing a technical benchmark and a POC for both systems if you can.
In general, the PDM/PLM system from the same vendor as your CAD software works the best in combination. This is naturally due to increased level of support and availability of propritiery information that the vendor can extract from its own software.
so with Pro/E, Windchill is best-in-class. With UG, TeamCenter is best-in-class.
This one was my ideea also.
If we are using Pro/E as CAD system let's use a PDM from PTC. If there will be a problem with this combination PTC should fix it and not blame the other PDM vendor if it's a different one than PTC.
What I found was that all demos and all the meetings that have been done by Siemens were more impresed than PTC's demos. In few words Siemens did their homework better than PTC.
I still believe than a PDM from PTC should work better with ProE but I still want to have also other opiniens. In all the presentation, demos, discution everithing was perfect: no crashings, no issues, for everithing there is a solution. We have to watch the computer and from time to time press a click.
Anyway thank you for your feed back.
