ProductPoint Replacement

I work for a small manufacturing company that uses Pro/E Wildfire 5 as its primary design software. When PTC told us Intralink would no longer be supported, we purchased ProductPoint for our PDM software, in 2009. Our experience with the performance of ProductPoint over the past year has been disappointing. The loss of productivity caused by the unreliability of ProductPoint to manage data, has caused our senior management to begin looking for a more effective PDM system. Does anyone have experience using Solidworks Enterprise PDM software to manage their Pro/E files?

This may not be the answer you want to hear but have you looked at the 2.0 version of ProuctPoint?

We have been using the current release of ProductPoint 1.1 M040. PTC's planned release date for ProductPoint 2.0 was November 2010,

but is still pending. We have been in contact with PTC and it sounds like release 2.0 is still a work in progress, Hopefully release 2.0 will

solve some of the problems we are experiencing.

Have you heard anything regarding timing effort and price to migrate data from PPoint 2 to WC 10.
