Query Builder report for project activities

I am trying to create a query builder report that will show the project, its activities and the state of the activity. It should be pretty easy but my report always shows the state as "Not Started" regardless of what the activity itself says. Any thoughts or ideas?

In it you can find a lot of query builder already done and some general rules about reporting.

Thanks for the information. There is a lot of great stuff there. Now if I can just find out why my project and activity state shows up as not started when they show up as running.
