Rehosting PDMLink 9.1 M050

Our current production system is 9.1 M050(migrated from 8.0) using Aphelion. I wanted to do a rehost of this system, so I did a fresh install of 9.1, and have hit stumbling block. The procedures in the 9.1 Rehost Guide says to export my users and ou=pendingUsers from the Source system and do an import to the Target system. Remembering what I had to do for the migration, should I back up the Target system's target config branches first? Do I do a full LDAP export from the Source system? Are the utilities the same under 9.1 as they were for 8.0? Just wondering if anyone else has done a rehost under 9.1 and could clarify a few things that the Rehost Guide seems to gloss over. Thanks!

Send lawyers, guns, and money...the sh!t has hit the fan!

Bill,

I believe one of the steps when you setup your target system ask that you export the Target Configuraton Branch of the target system. You will need to delete the dc=com node above the ou=people node after import the LDAP from the source, then you will need to import the target config branch of the target system back into the LDAP. The Step are below.

1. After installing the target system and verifying that it works,

a. Export the target config branch ( for backup, will be need later)

2. Import the Ldap from the source system in the Aphelion of the target system

a. Open the LDAP Browser on the target

b. Delete the dc=com node above the ou=people node ( this is the target config branch that came over from the source system)

3. Import the target config branch of the target that you exported from step (1a) into the ldap of the target.

The target config branch is a server specific node and will only work if it is from the same machine.

HTH,
Alex

Bill,

Also make sure that your target system base dn is same as your source.
You can get this information from ie.properties file found under
codebase\web-inf.
