Removing anonymous access to Windchill Directory Service breaks Cognos.

We have Windchill PDMLink 9.1 M040 and Cognos8 installed on solaris 10. I need to remove external anonymous access to the Windchill Directory Service for security. However, when I change the configuration of the Windchill DS Cognos8 has an issue and I get errors in the method server logs and eventually will get a core dump. The rest of Windchill/PDMLink seems to run fine. Other than modifying a few settings for https, I have not made any other configuration changes to cognos from the base installation. How do I configure Cognos8 to not require anonymous access to the local LDAP?

I am not an expert in it but wherever Cognos has the settings to connect
to the LDAP, they should have provided parameters for a login and
password. This is similar to setting up authentication to Active
Directory from Apache I would figure. It might be just a specific LDAP
URL that needs to have the login information in it.
