Replace format Issues Revisited...

I know this was an issue before that was resolved but we are seeing an issue when trying to replace a format in Pro/E from the CS. We get the "does not exist in database" error. We just upgraded from 3.3 to 3.4 M062 and Wildfire 4 M150.

Our config.pro is set to: pro_format_dir ilcs://<servername>/Root Folder/Pro_Stds/Formats/MFG Formats

One thing I tried was a solution from Olaf setting the path as a environment variable and using in the config.pro option:

pro_format_dir $ilinkstdsdir/Formats/MFG Formats

where $ilinkstdsdir = ilcs://<servername>/Root Folder/Pro_Stds

Curiously, browsing to the folder in CS points to the old server location, but still doesn't work.

Anyone else see this issue? Anyone have a solution? So far, no working solution from PTC tech support.

As I recall it, it's a bug in ProE (or could be ProI) that never got fixed,
as far as I know ... I think our work-around used to be to add the format to
the Workspace, then browse to the Workspace to select the format you want to
use.

If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll scratch the grey matter some more
!

Paul
