At PTC we have tested Riverbed and that improve performance, but you can
only use this for direct access to the master over the WAN.
Some customers think they shall use WAN optimization tools for Remote File
Servers (Replica Sites), but the replication is packaged and the WAN
optimization will not be able speed up this process.
So if you consider optimization with Remote File Servers (Replica Sites)
then they will have very limited advantages if they can optimize anything at
all.
