Undesired Calculated links for drawings

Hey gang!

WC10.0 M040, Creo 2.0 M050

SO, these calculated links to drawings are cause us trouble.

Have any of you found a way around these issues?

It appears that any drawing the Owner EPM doc is related by 'Drawings Reference' to gets added as a calculated link to its WTPart, and you cannot remove this link.

I set the preference Operations-AutoAssociate- Create Content Links for Drawings to Yes, this had no effect.

This causes us these problems.

1. 'temporary what-if' drawings are added

2. Collectors in Revise, Move, Promote, Affected objects, etc. collect these Undesired calculated linked objects

a. Users then must be very diligent

3. Wt.Maturity.getPromotionSeeds also collects these objects, so my transitional check of Checked out Promotion Objects has an exception if a Calculated linked object is checked out, even though it is not a promotable.

Vaughn,

Calculated is not a modeled link in the database. The association is
derived based on other relations. So, Windchill does not allow you to
delete "calculated" association between CAD Drawing and a WTPart.

Check the following link, if you want to set "content" as default
association between CAD Drawing and a WTPart.

Does anyone know how to prohibit the automatic links to drawings?
I would like to be able to Tell Windchill what should be associated vs. it assuming things should be associated.

So, Changing the link to content does not resolve the end issues we are experiencing.

I'm looking for the same thing.  Disable "Calculated" links so that the system stops creating them on it's own.

Set the following site preference in <Windchill>\codebase\wt.properties in Windchill Solutions 9.0 M080 or later and 9.1 M070 or later to hide calculated link types from Windchill user interfaces:

​wt.epm.displayCalculatedLink=false

Values: false, true (default)
Description: configure whether Calculated Association Link type between Drawing and WTPart will be not be displayed.
- True - Calculated Association Link type will be displayed between Drawing and WTPart.
- False - Calculated Association Link type will NOT be displayed between Drawing and WTPart.

• With Windchill Solutions 9.1 M050 and later, the following preference also exists which will create a content link by default between drawings and WTParts:

Auto Associate > Create Content Links For Drawings=Yes

Calculated link is not a DB persisted link like the content or owner

It is based on the 3D owner link, and the ref link from the 3D to the Drawing
