Upgrading Windchill 10.2 from M010 to M030

Hi Folks,

We are upgrading our system from Windchill 10.2 M010 to M030 and we would like to exchange experience with users that already done it with the goals to mitigate risks in this process through specification, tests and etc.

Our main concerns are integration, customization and parameters that already done in the system.

It will be pleasure to hear you

At this point we have been unable to get the Update_Tool to run successfully after installing M030.  (We are currently on M020.)  PTC support has been unable to find a solution to the error so far either.  (It's been several weeks.)

Depending on how you use Windchill, there are some issues with M030 that may be show stoppers.  See CS210431 (SPR 4493975).

You may also want to take a look at the Update Advisor.  Right now it is showing 289 issues reported in M020 that are not yet resolved and another 184 issues reported in M030 that also are not resolved.

Ok Tom, Tks for your help..

We have also had an issue with the Update Tool after upgrading to M030. I recently rebuilt the test server we are using and now we have an issue upgrading Java to M030.

Ok Bill, Tks for your help..

This is mentioned in the link Marco posted, but it's worth mentioning here directly:

There is a known issue with the version of Tomcat included with 10.2 M030, which can cause Method Servers to deadlock. The fix for the issue will be included in CPS05. If you move to a pre-CPS05 version of 10.2 M030, then you need to install the patch from CS208962.
