Use of Windchill 9.1 M070 with Java 1.7

Has anyone tried using Windchill 9.1 M070 with Java 1.7? What are your experiences/recommendations? According to PTC support, Java 1.7 is not supported for use with Windchill 9.1 M070, but I would like to know if someone has tried it out regardless.

Thanks,
David Rodriguez

We had a couple of non-CAD guys here who had Java 1.7, and we could not install CreoView until we installed Java 1.6.

Thanks for your inputs. We are currently using Creo/Elemnts View 9.1 and not Creo View. So I am hoping there are no problems using Creo/Elements View 9.1 with Java 1.7. I will have to test this.

Windchill does not officially support Java 7 clients until 10.1 M020.

In order to extend official support to Java 7 in this MOR, an extensive
QA testing and certification effort was done to verify proper
operation. Such an extensive testing effort is costly and time
consuming, of course, and thus is applied in the context of a new MOR.
As part of this MOR, a variety of fixes were made to the product's Java
clients so that they would work properly with Java 7.

Server-side support for Java 7 will be come in the next release. PTC has
experimented with providing server-side support for new versions of Java
in MOR streams in the past. The result was a lot of time and effort on
PTC's part, but low customer uptake.
