Using Crystal Reports with Windchill??

Our IT group is standardizing on the Crystal reporting tool and has asked me to look into the best method for retrieving Windchill Data.

Is anyone currently using crystal reports to pull Windchill data?

What options do we have for querying Windchill from a crystal report?

Are there any concerns we should be aware of before heading down this path?

I read somewhere that you can output the SQL commands from a query builder report but I cannot find any further detail about this direction.

Thank you for your advice,

Some of the popular reporting or BI tools take xml files as input data
set for reports. If crystal reports supports that option, using Info Engine
tasks to get the data out of Windchill is one option.

Dax, when we initially made the BI tool selection for OEM use with
Windchill Business Reporting we evaluated Business Objects (the server
product, not Crystal Reports). The server product was able to consume
Query Builder output with some additional XSL manipulation through an
I*E task using the webject to execute reports. You might consider that
route, although it would be a lot easier to just use Windchill Business
Reporting.

Some customers have also gone directly at the Windchill database with
reporting tools.
