Watermark setup

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.0

How to set the watermark when viewing and downloading documents? I couldn't find where to download the watermark editor. Can the watermark be set as the username of the downloader/viewer?

The watermark editor is provided with the Creo View install image. There is another exe or msi contained within there to install it. Any attribute that is available in the properties in Creo View can be rendered as a watermark variable.

Link above shows how to put username in there. I have not tried it however.

For watermark_editor folder, I couldn't find it. It seems that my computer don't have this folder and ProductView_Watermark_Editor.msi.

Are you looking in the Creo View install folder or the install image? It should be downloaded and seen in the install image.

If you're downloading files, such as a pdf of a drawing, the OOTB Creo View watermark will not watermark the pdf that is created during publishing.

However, I have written a few watermark utilities for companies that will watermark pdf files upon publishing and downloading.

I typically add the watermark centered along the page's diagonal and sized so that it fits nicely regardless of the page size. Font, color and the watermark text (in your case the user who is doing the downloading) are all variables.

In your case you don't want to watermark upon publishing. You want to watermark upon download.  This too is possible, and the watermark can be the username or user's full name (or whatever you want).

Hi,

We have implemented watermarking by using Windchill Extension - Watermarking.

You can configure the trigger (say LC state change) , the mapping of which watermark template to be used can be specified. On the server side, you need to configure the watermarking templates accordingly.

The watermark will be applied ON - THE -FLY while downloading the PDF.

It has worked well.
