An Assembly Without Defining Material Props?

An Assembly Without Defining Material Props?

Consider that I have an assembly model with me which is designed in a different CAD software (Eg.: SW, NX...)
Now, I have imported that geometry into CREO environment. Now, I`d like to find out the mass properties, Centre of Gravity & Inertia of the same imported assembly.

This is where the question comes in... Now, if I don`t define the material properties, is there any way to find out the above mentioned parameters??? Because I have heard that SW has this feature & I`m curious if CREO works this way or not.

Please feel free to answer. I`d humbly appreciate your replies.

Unless the imported data includes material and or mass properties that is interpreted by Creo upon import then I think the answer is no. You would need to assign a material to the models after import and then calculate the mass properties.

Some neutral files support material and mass parameters (AP214 for one I believe). If you read this into Creo on import, then the parameters would be defined automatically. You would need to make sure the source exports this data and then configure Creo to import it as well.
