Assembly Component Operations - Transform no longer present in the menu

I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.3.0

I was able to use the Transform feature under Component Operations for one component of my assembly. Now I want to use Transform again on the same assembly but I can no longer find it in the Component Operations' menu

Hello Antonio,

Thank you for sharing the detailed behavior you've observed regarding the Transform option under Component Operations in Creo Piping.

After extensive testing, I was able to reproduce the issue on my side.

When working in a standard assembly, the Transform option is available under Component Operations. However, once I enter Piping mode, the Transform option becomes unavailable, even after exiting the Piping environment. The option remains inaccessible until Creo is restarted.

I’ve reported this behavior to our R&D team as SPR 16416497 for further investigation.

If you’d like to track or review the status of this SPR, you can refer to  Article - CS451257 - Transform option under Component Operations becomes unavailable upon entering the Piping Mode in Creo Parametric or use the SPR Tracker.

I did just a quick check on creo 8 and Creo + (Creo 12) and I find Transform under Component operations also.

Can you verify you if it is only in one specific assembly or in all assemblies you open that Transform is missing?

I'm using Design Essential license which I don't think has any added options so I don't believe it is a licensing issue.

Hi Stephen, now it seems to be back and steady in the same piping assembly. I thought it was related to shifting between piping and assembly environments, but now it doesn’t seem the case.

Thanks all for your support!

To give an update on this, I opened a case with PTC who suggested to verify the following steps. I tried them all, but still I cannot understand the logic behind the appearance or not of the Transform option in the Component Operations menu, sometimes it is available and then not anymore 🤔

  • Ensure a Coordinate System (Csys) is selected before accessing Component Operations. The Transform option only appears when a valid Csys is active.
  • Confirm that the component is not the first placed in the assembly, as Creo restricts transformation for the first component.
  • If constraints are limiting movement, try editing or suppressing them temporarily via Edit Definition.
