I do this by treating the coax/twinax terminator as individual connectors just like any other Rf connector and parent to the D38999 connector. I do need a model for the coax terminator when doing cable but that actually works when doing harness details.

Curious how do you reparent or parent a connector to a variable group? I thought that was just a block diagram function. Create a fixed group and bring in a representation of a coax or twinax connector with the ports to the fixed group?

Yes, I created a fixed group for that shell configuration. I've used this for coax and fiber optic connectors.
