Creo 1.0 F000 bug - Need others to verify

I found an interesting bug that can be replicated in all the installations we have of Creo 1.0 using the Parametric App. (Tyring to use the new lingo)

I was wondering if anyone is willing to reproduce it on their end in order to confirm that it's actually a bug and not some wierd glitch on our end.

Watch the following Youtube video to see the problem. (It's in HD, so you can view it on full screen mode)

Bug, yes. I duplicated it. Funny I had not ran into it yet.

PTC Needs to get this. Note: Section appears correct

Funny thing, a split surface appears to clean it up, yet it is not really
there as indicated by a cross section.

Bug verified here as well.

The section view shows the oddly created surface.

Sean,

It does not appear in the section as a section line, is what I was trying to
communicate. Note your line colors or place an area section on a drawing.
Hope that helps,

Seems to be a graphics issue. The display in Hidden mode is OK.

Yep, definetly reproducable.

Other modes like No Hidden, Wireframe and Hidden Lines are not affected by this

Kind regards,

Thanks for the great feedback on this. We figured it was a Graphics
related issue but wanted to make sure it was not due to our particular
Graphics card or driver. If we can reproduce this with different
workstations configurations, then it's a graphical bug on the software
end.

I also verified that if you save a copy to IGES or STEP, the surface is
not there. So it does not really exist, but we can see it in shaded mode.

Why is this a big issue?

For one, it just makes the model look wrong but the real problem is that
the surface shows up in Drawing mode. This makes your drawing views look
incorrectly, which is the problem we ran into. We are not running Creo
1.0 in production yet, but I have 3 different users working on it for
specific projects.

Thanks again for all the great feedback.

Verified the bug on a non-certified Dell Optiplex 380, too.

One thing weird is if you do the extrude above the part, like a tube on the top surface, then reverse the direction so the tube is buried in the solid, the center hole appears. If the tube is above the part, or cut into the part, the center hole is 'covered'.

Thank you,

It also only appears if the hole is completely inside the protrusiion. If just part of the protrusion intersects with the hole the display is correct.

Kind regards,

Olaf Corten

I wanted to update everyone and let you know that I filled this bug with PTC Support. I will update this post as needed.

"Too many people walk around like Clark Kent, because they don't realize they can Fly like Superman"

I duplicated thebug and logged a tech support case with PTC.

All

Thank you all for verifying this issue.

This is a known bug and a fix has been made that should be available in
the M010 build of Creo 1.0

Thanks
