I believe this is a bug. My coworker gets the same result. In a drawing, when trying to translate or copy something along a line (by picking two points on the line) it doesn't work.
To simplify, here are steps to reproduce:
- In a drawing, sketch a line
- Sketch something else, or create a symbol or text (anything really)
- Attempt to Translate OR copy the “something else” you made
- Use “Select a point on drawing object or entity” for the first point and pick a point on the line
- Use “Select a point on drawing object or entity” for final destination point and pick another point on the same line. (Thereby moving the object along the line)
- It doesn’t work. Copying creates a second object right on top of the first, and translating doesn’t do anything.
It works for a point on one line to a point on a different line. All the other selections (vertex, free point, etc) work as expected. It's only from a point on a line to another point on the SAME line that doesn't work.
