Creo 3 regenerates every time I switch windows, how do I stop this?

Is really annoying when working with big assemblies and it takes a log time to regenerate...

Thanks

Changing to from model to drawing? Try "auto_regen_views no"

Otherwise: Is there a real regeneration or just some delay to refresh the windows?

it's from model window to another part/asm window and the regenerating windows appear also with count features left to regenerate

Hello,

In our upgrade training this has been presented as an improvement.

In my thoughts this is an improvement, but it should be possible to put it on hold. For instance when switching to another window only for reference, I don't like the regen. Regeneration will delay the availability of the window and program.

Johnny

Yes, I'm switching just to see how it look in the asm, or do a measure so it doesn't make any sense to regenerate all...

try the config option enable_auto_regen & regenerate_read_only_objects to No

I believe this is a new config.pro option in CREO 3

activate_window_automatically yes/no
add this to your config.pro file

activate_window_automatically no

to set the behavior back to the way it was in previous releases of CREO /  ProE

Note to PTC software development Don't change things that ain't broke !!!!
This changed behavior slows done productivity.

I like most CREO Users today have dual monitors if I want to see something on my other monitor.... pan around zoom rotate whatever I do not want it to activate & regenerate every time.

Dave

That was exactly what I wanted! Thanks dmcclinton!
