Creo 4.0 Framework custom tube profiles

You can achieve this by performing the following actions:

• Create a customization directory to prevent your files from being lost after a Creo update. For detailed info see the chapter in the help (https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r7.0/usascii/#page/advanced_framework%2FAbout_Saving_Advanced_Framework_Customizations_Outside_Installation_Directory.html%23).
  In a few words
  • Copy customization dir to save location
  • Set config option “CUSTOMIZATION_PATH“ to that location.
  • Modify your beam in the customization directory
• Copy the profile that you want to customize from the parts location to the custom directory.
  

   

  • From:
    C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 7.0.1.0\Common Files\afx\parts\profiles\steel_beams_inch
    To (Example):
    C:\temp\customization\parts\profiles\steel_beams_inch
• Open pipe.tab with notepad++ (Recommended Plugin: Elastic Tabstops)

Add your custom beam:
SEL_STRING = Name in the Framework user interface
BUW_SIZE = Parameter value of the model
DM = Diameter
T = Thickness
