We have come to find that just the generic is saved off, and opening the generic does not offer you dialog to select the instance. It just shows you the generic model. Open the instance(s) in Creo Parametric and save a copy to a pvz file(s). You can then open the pvz file(s). You might also try saving instance accelerator files from Creo Parametric. These might be openable in Creo View Express.
